Weather Policies
The Klinke Cleaners Delivery Team will always make every effort to pick up and deliver your items even during difficult weather conditions. However, the safety our drivers is our top priority when dangerous conditions arise. Please review the terms of our delivery service below to understand the expectations of our delivery team during these situations.
Winter Weather Policy
- Please make every effort to clear driveways and sidewalks of snow and ice before we arrive on your service day.
- If our driver determines that he or she cannot safely service your address then they will text you that they are unable to provide service. For example, this can occur if your driveway or stairs have not had the snow removed or they are icy.
- If the Madison bus service shuts down, we will shut down our delivery service immediately. If it is an emergency and you need your items, please contact the delivery department at delivery@klinkecleaners.com or 608-298-2332 and we will coordinate with you so you can obtain your garments.
- When leaving out your pink bag, please be sure to make it very visible on bad weather days. This will help our drivers quickly verify if you do or do not have a pickup.
- If you are unable to remove the snow and ice from your driveway and/or steps, we request that you place your bag toward the end of your driveway or put the bag’s handle over your mailbox or any place where the bag is highly visible and easily accessible.
- If our driver is unable to navigate unplowed streets in your area then they might be unable to service your address. In that case, they will text you that they are unable to provide service that day.
Rain, Wind, Tornado Policy
- Please be sure you have text messaging enabled in your account settings. We will send a text message on high wind days so you may try to collect your items as soon as possible. To turn on text messaging, please log into your account via the mobile app or by visiting klinkecleaners.com/login.
- Our drivers may knock, call or text you on windy days if they don’t feel your items will be safe or dry given the location where your clothes are normally placed.
- If you have a screen door, please leave it unlocked. We can safely secure your items between screen and main doors so that they stay dry and/or don’t blow away.
- On windy days, we recommend you open your garage door and alert our driver that they may place your order(s) inside your garage.

Hanger Recycling Policies (Returning Hangers to Klinke Cleaners)
We encourage our delivery customers to return hangers to use as part of our EarthSmart Systems to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The proper method of returning hangers to us is via our cardboard hanger caddies. When a customer signs up for our delivery service, a hanger caddy is supplied as part of the Welcome Kit. Once the caddy is full, the caddy can be placed outside with the delivery bag(s) on a scheduled delivery day. Our drivers will pick up the caddy and leave a new one in its place. Delivery customers should not return hangers to Klinke Cleaners by placing the hangers inside the delivery bags. Hangers can have mildly sharp edges which can scratch or tear the fabric of garments within the delivery bag. Klinke Cleaners will not be liable for any damage if hangers are placed within our delivery bags.
Pricing Policies
Our delivery service is a free service which means we do not charge a delivery fee. Our delivery service is processed at our facility on Monona Drive so the delivery pricing matches the pricing at our Monona Drive location.
On Demand Policies
In autumn 2021, we switched all customers to our “On Demand” service. This means that our customers will need to use our automated system to schedule us to come pick up their cleaning. Prior to On Demand service, we would check on a customer’s pickup location on their service days whether the customer requested a pickup or not. In order to be more environmentally friendly, we switched to the On Demand service so we eliminate any unnecessary visits. While this On Demand policy does require extra effort on the part of the customer, we feel the trade off is worth it to provide “greener” and faster service to those customers who do need service on a given day.
