At Klinke Cleaners, our favorite types of community partnerships are those that fall into the “win-win” column. But one of our favorite events of the year takes that even further: we call the annual All Dressed Up event we sponsor a triple win. We get to participate in a wonderfully collaborative community effort, in partnership with our friends at Junior League of Madison, and deliver gently used formal wear to young women with a financial need ahead of prom season.
No matter how much we love “that dress” that served us well for a wedding, gala or other special event, the reality is that most of our formal attire only gets worn on a handful of occasions and typically gets moved to the back of the closet where it remains unused. But you can give that beautiful dress new life by participating in the 16th annual All Dressed Up dress collection campaign.
We’ll accept donations of gently used prom-appropriate dresses and jewelry at Dane County-area Klinke’s locations during the month of February. We clean and press the dresses to prepare them for distribution at a special event Saturday, March 7 at Madison College. Dresses for all body types are available, along with shoes, accessories, and even makeup and hair demonstrations. Visit the registration page for more details and please note that advance registration is required.
All Dressed Up began as a simple way to make prom dresses accessible and available to all who want one. But over the past 16 years the event has become about so much more as we see the big smiles and increased confidence of dress recipients. We also take pride and pleasure in seeing the circles of generosity grow from this event as many young women choose to donate back the dresses they received.
You can help make the dream of attending prom come true for hundreds of young people in our community by dropping your new or gently used special occasion dress at any Klinke’s location during the month of February. Thank you for supporting All Dressed Up!
